Our Philosophy


HYA was organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes as defined by the IRS. HYA was formed to aid in the advancement of education and to lessen the burdens of government and to promote social welfare by providing a supervised program of competitive athletics for children in the metropolitan Atlanta community. The HYA youth baseball program welcomes all youth regardless of sex, religion, race or color, four (4) through fifteen (15) years of age. The game is played on a baseball field suitable to the physical development of growing youngsters. HYA's mission is to:

 
  • Promote in such children the development of: strong character, a sense of responsibility and citizenship, the ideals of good sportsmanship, participation in physical activities and the development of physical and social skills; and
 
  • Teach such children the concept and importance of team work, the basic fundamentals of baseball and other sports, the principles of community and the molding of responsible future citizens
 
  • The attainment of exceptional athletic skill and the winning of games are secondary
