Programs Offered

NOTE: Select programming is offered from 5U-12U. All players interested in Select must register for the Recreation program and check the Select box.

All programs, except mini-hitters, will have a minimum 2 events per week, 1 weekday and 1 Saturday. Season is roughly split into 3 parts. The first part is 2 practices, the second part is 1 weekday practice and 1 weekend game. The last part is 1 weekday game and 1 weekend game. Teams with odd number of teams will have 2 games instead of 1 during some weeks.

  • 4U (Mini-Hitters) - Introductory Program that includes clinic style practices and short games that build up to mini-hitters graduation in a full field game.
  • 5U Tee Rescue - Minor Leagues - The assessment and draft will be used to place players in the correct league for their experience and skill level. The 5U Minor Leagues will be the starting point for most 5U players. Some players may move up to the National League.
  • 5U/6U Tee Rescue - National League - The assessment and draft will be used to place players in the correct league for their experience and skill level. National League will include use of tee if a player isn't successful putting the ball in play off of coach pitch. Rules progress throughout the Spring season with the development of the players in this league. Season concludes with Hopewell Tournament. Coaching and fielding rules will be geared toward introductory player development.
  • -5U/6U Coach Pitch - American League - The assessment and draft will be used to place players in the correct league for their experience and skill level. The Americal League 5U/6U will be coach pitch only. Rules will be geared toward more advaced play.
  • 7U Coach Pitch - 5 pitches/3 swings for entire season. Coaching and fielding rules will be geared toward player development, while maintaining the appropriate level for the player's skill levels..
  • 8U Coach Pitch w/ Tranistion to Kid Pitch/Coach Rescue - 5 pitches/3 swings for beginning of season. Players transition to 3 pitches from kid pitcher and 2 pitches from coach pitcher if the ball is not put in play. 
  • 9U/10U Kid Pitch Recreation League - Rules and coaching are geared toward transitioning to a kid pitch environment with increased competition. Advanced concepts and rules are less restrictive.
  • 5U, 6U, 7U, 8U, 9U Select Teams - These teams will be formed and will have varying level of programming for each age group. Details will be communicated to each league.
  • 10U Kid Pitch Select League - Players from recreation league can tryout for the recreation inter-park Select team. This is an advanced recreation league and is very compeitive.
  • 11/12U Kid Pitch Recreation League  - Competitive recreation baseball league. All players who register for the Spring season will be selected to a team.
  • 11U/12U Kid Pitch Select League - Players from recreation league can tryout for the recreation inter-park Select team. This is an advanced recreation league and is very compeitive.
  • 13-15U Inter-park League - Competitive recreation baseball league which plays games against other Hopewell teams as well as other area parks. All players who register for the Spring season will be selected to a team.
