ADVANCED PROGRAMMING

COMING SOON 2022-2023 SEASON

  • Hopewell Junior Hakws for 7U and 8U Age Groups - Supplemental Adavnced Development Porgram for 7U and 8U Players. Tryout based running Fall, Winter and Spring Seasons
  • Hopewell 8U Select - Particiaption in the 8U North Fulton Select program for the 2023 Spring season. Teams will follow similar pattern to other rec select teams in existing 9U-12U Programs.

Hopewell Hawks Elite

Hopewell Hawks Elite teams will be comprised of players and families wanting to play at the highest level of travel baseball, AAA/Major. These teams should expect a higher level commitment than Hopewell Select teams. This would include more practices, advanced programming and tournaments played. Players should expect an extended summer baseball season when committing to these teams. Players on these teams are still encouraged to play multiple sports and provided rest and recovery time from throwing based on season schedules. Teams will be guaranteed 2 practices per week in Fall and 3 practices per week in Spring.

In the case where more than one Hopewell Hawks Elite teams exist, the teams will be Blue and Red. The uniforms will have different color schemes to reflect this distinction. All new players looking to play at the Elite level must tryout for the Blue team first.

How to qualify as a Hopewell Hawks Elite team:

  • All tournaments are played at the AAA+ level at age group or AA+ level above age group
  • Team plays through June/Early July
  • Team participates in Hopewell or Other Winter Program
  • Players should expect one destination tournament from 9U Up

Hopewell Hawks Premier

Hopewell Hawks Premier teams are teams comprised of players and families looking to play full travel at the AA+ level.

Hopewell Hawks Premier teams can choose to advance to the Hopewell Hawks Elite level. In this case, players already on the team do not have to tryout for any existing Hopewell Hawks Elite team. All new players looking to play at the Elite or Premier level must tryout for the Blue team first. Any existing player on a Premier team can choose to attend the Elite tryout, and try to make that team with no penalty for doing so from their existing Hawks team.

In the case where more than one Hopewell Hawks Premier teams exist, the teams will be Blue and Red. The uniforms will have different color schemes to reflect this distinction.

How to qualify as a Hopewell Hawks Premier team:

  • All tournaments are played at the AA+ level
  • Team plays through June/Early July
  • Team participates in Hopewell or Other Winter Program

Hopewell Recreation Select - Mustangs, Broncos and Colts (9U, 10U, 11U and 12U)

Hopewell Recreation Select teams will be formed in each of these age groups using a tryout of all players registered in the Spring Recreation league. The number of teams formed at each age will be dependent upon the number of players registered in that age group for the Spring season.

Any player wanting to advance form the Rec Select to the Premier or Elite Level must attend the Elite tryout. In the event a Rec Select team would like to advance to the Hawks team, they can do so as long as no Hawks team already exists. If a Hawks team already exists, they must tryout for that team first.

NOTE: Coaches of any groups of teams within an age group can agree to leave players on certain teams. This would need to be submitted to the Hopewell Board of Directors in writing with approval of both coaches and a list of player’s names. This could also be used for the agreement of a transfer of a player within an age group. There will be a parent/player appeal process to request moving from one team to another within the same or lower levels of the Elite and Premier teams. This appeal would require a face to face interview between the parents and head coach of the existing team.

Hopewell All-Stars - Mustangs, Broncos and Colts (5U-12U)

All-Star teams are formed using a regirous evaluation process of all players in the recreation league. That process is documented here. We are always reviewing and improving our process based on the current needs of the program.

The following naming convention is used for all All-Star teams:

  • Mustangs - A team - Top team out of the park
  • Broncos - B team - Second team out of the park
  • Colts - C team - Third team out of the park

All Hopewell All-Star teams are requried to play in tournaments at their level, and Mustang teams are required to play in Dizzy Dean Distrcit and State events. Playing in the Dizzy Dean World Series is optional, but encouraged.

Hopewell Sunday Select (5U-8U)

The top 22 players from the Hopewell Spring recreation assessment will be invited to participate in the Hopewell Sunday Select program. This is a series of advanced practices and scrimmages led by advanced coaches within the player's age group. This program runs until Spring break when Hopewell All-Star teams are selected.
